Play Date Fun

Lately I've been trying to think of slices of life that are significant but often undocumented. I'm continually on a mission to identify and use my camera to bring value to parts of life that are often taken for granted, or just not traditionally documented. I'm a strong believer that there's magic in those moments. I think as parents, play dates can be one of those times - sacred times for moms or dads to connect with each other, and sweet times for their kiddos to play with friends as well. I had the chance to photograph a group of moms with their littles (all happened to be past brides of mine which made things even sweeter) while they spent a morning together at one of their houses, sharing snacks, letting the kids enjoy the sprinkler and pool in the hot weather, and taking a walk to the garden to enjoy some fresh-from-the-ground carrots. And as always, I was overwhelmed by the beauty in the seemingly mundane.

I'll be opening a handful of spots for more sessions like this throughout this fall - if you're interested, use the Contact tab above and let me know!

An Afternoon with the Book Family

It's especially fun for me to photograph families with kids who are a little older than my own, because I love seeing the beauty of what the next stage of life might look like. For this sweet family, it's homework and after-school snacks around the island, dance parties in the living room and lots of fun outside. Sign me up.

A Morning with Jenna & Jordan

I got to spend a weekend morning with these two lovebirds. Capturing moments during this season so when they're old and gray they have tangible reminders of their life and love right now. In their first apartment, cooking and eating breakfast together, dancing in the living room, walking around their neighborhood and drinking coffee on the front steps. This is the good stuff.

First Day of Kindergarten

It appears that I am that mom who won't think to take a single cell phone picture on the first day of kindergarten, but will have hundreds of pictures of my kid getting ready - because heaven forbid we don't have a picture of our kindergartener brushing her hair. Happy first day E.
